Inventory Reorder Simulator overview

Inventory Reorder Simulator answers a single question for a single product: at what stock level should I reorder, and how much safety stock do I need? It runs a day-by-day Monte Carlo rollout of demand and lead time — not a closed-form formula — so you can see the stockout-risk/cost tradeoff across a whole range of reorder points, not just trust one number.

What it does

You describe a product to the AI: roughly how much you sell, how long restocking takes, and how rarely you're willing to stock out. The tool fits or accepts your demand and lead-time estimates, sweeps a range of candidate reorder points, and simulates each one across many replications to find the smallest reorder point that hits your target service level — plus, if you give it cost inputs, the reorder point that minimizes total expected cost.

Who it's for

Any small or mid-size business owner managing reorder points for a physical product: retail, boutique apparel, hardware and bulk goods. Inventory Reorder Simulator is particularly useful when:

  • You're currently guessing at a reorder point, or using a simple back-of-envelope formula that doesn't account for demand variability
  • You have (or can estimate) historical sales data and want a data-backed recommendation instead of a gut call
  • You want to see the cost of a stricter service level, not just hit a target blindly
warning

Inventory Reorder Simulator requires a Pro plan or an active trial. Trial-expired accounts can view past results and export but cannot create new projects or submit new runs.
